Tagged: the only thing i can think of in this scene, and arguably the latter half of this entire film, is how obi-wan must be feeling, he must be so sick and raw and broken, resigned to the fact that he has to stop anakin, has to put an end to the person he's built his life with and around, the one soul he would have died for without hesitation, and that he still would die for if only it could bring him back, and there'd be a part of him still hoping anakin could be saved, even though he knows that's not how things will turn out, and looking at padme lying there finalises everything, more so than the sacking of the temple, or the slaughter of the younglings, or order 66 has done, because they're too big to comprehend yet, and how bitter it must taste now that he realises the greatness in anakin's future was a terrible greatness, and that this, being the last of his kind, this overwhelming grief, is the infinite sadness he foresaw for himself, ugh too many star wars feels again, i'm not even sorry, obi-wan just does this to me okay, movie: star wars, .
